Toufik's Story

Toufik’s Story

The civil war in Syria took a heavy toll on Toufik and his family. Their home was hit by an artillery shell that almost killed him and his wife. The powerful blast also destroyed his liquor store, the family’s sole source of income. As soon as they began recovering from their severe injuries, Toufik started receiving death threats for criticizing extremists online.
